Yesterday was the saddest climax in Donald Trump’s disastrous presidency. Instead of resigning with style and dignity, the incumbent President invited his supporters to a rally. Trump consciously chose this date because it was when Congress wanted to confirm Joe Biden as the next President of the United States.
Tens of thousands of people from all over the country accepted Trump’s invitation. They flocked to the square in front of the White House. Trump’s previous speakers, including his son Eric, stir up the audience with unbelievable lies and hate speech. Until Donald Trump himself took the stage.
During his speech, which was incoherent and riddled with lies as always, Trump spoke more and more quickly, to the point of sheer madness. Screaming and gesticulating, his speech recalled those from Adolf Hitler and Joseph Goebbels or dark villains in films such as Star Wars.
Trump not only mocked the President-Elect Joe Biden but also called for violence, albeit indirectly. In his speech, which was characterized by narcissism and egomania, only the call for “totalen Krieg” (total war) was missing.
Unfortunately, a war followed in the evening. In the run-up to Trump’s speech, Trump had motivated his supporters to march on the Capitol. And many hundreds followed this appeal. But instead of demonstrating peacefully, they stormed the most important symbol of freedom and democracy in the United States of America, the Capitol.
The mob therefore entered the congress hall disrespectfully, where the representatives had discussed the confirmation of Joe Biden. Some of them had to hide behind chairs and under tables. Finally, they were evacuated, including the still incumbent Vice-President Mike Pence.
The mob also stormed and ravaged some offices, including that of Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi. The intruders even stole her name tag.
JOE BIDEN AND CELEBRITIES AGAINST TRUMP
Almost all US politicians, and of course, many celebrities, consider this day a shame in the history of American democracy. An attack instigated by a president who during his entire term of office neither stood up for the people nor for the country, but rather abused both for his own purposes.

Today, domestic terrorists attacked a foundation of our democracy: the peaceful transfer of power following free elections.

We must reestablish the rule of law and hold them accountable.
Democracy is fragile. Our leaders must live up to their responsibility to protect it.
Unimaginable.

Disgraceful.
Shocking.
But no surprise.
So many to hold responsible. You know who you are.
You dismissed the violent, divisive, cruel rhetoric. You made excuses.
Cowards
He/you are not leaders.
We will try to re-build. You will try to live with yourselves
I’m speechless

The only other person enjoying this chaos & anarchy as much as our defeated president is Vladimir Putin.

It is time for the leaders of this country to invoke the 25th Amendment. Isn’t it obvious? Today has made me sad with disbelief with what is happening in my country, a country that has inspired my songs of hope and love.

As a United States Citizen, and the daughter of two veterans, and the sister of another, I am ashamed of what is happening in Washington. Hypocrisy, shame,

Embarrassment. Unpatriotic hypocritical sheep drinking poison Kool aid. This a sad day for America.
During his speech, Trump also tried to coerce his VP, Mike Pence, into violating the United States’ Constitution and preventing Joe Biden’s certification as president. But Pence, who is otherwise loyal to Trump, contradicted his boss in advance. In doing so, he declared himself loyal to the constitution of the USA.
MIKE PENCE CONFIRMS JOE BIDEN AS 46TH PRESIDENT
So that night, Joe Biden was finally confirmed as the 46th President of the USA. At the same time, loyal members of the Trump team resigned. Others are now discussing impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump. They want to hold him accountable for the riots that left four dead and many injured.
TWITTER BLOCKS TRUMP
As a reaction to Donald Trump’s persistent lack of insight, the major social media platforms Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube have decided to block his posts from now on.
Even if the masses who stormed the Capitol describe themselves as proud and loyal Americans, they are anything but that. The legacy and greatness of the USA is not based on violence against dissidents. What makes the USA a great country is precisely its constitution and democracy.
And so the countdown has started. We have 13 days left. Then, the worst president in US history has to vacate his office. The new hopeful President Joe Biden will take over the Oval Office. Hard years are ahead of him. And it will not be easy to remove the division, to reunite the people again. All that remains is to wish Joe Biden all the best in this situation.
