Yesterday we invited you to the Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom sweepstakes and left something important unmentioned. Because while Indy’s father is portrayed in the film by the great Sean Connery, his spiritual creator is George Lucas. With movies like Indiana Jones and Star Wars, he not only laid the foundation stone for marvelous films and a growing fan base worldwide. Rather, these blockbusters also formed the foundation for Lucasfilm and the associated special effects company Industrial Light & Magic.

LIGHT & MAGIC
With the new Disney+ series “Light & Magic,” Oscar®-nominated filmmaker Lawrence Kasdan takes us on a very special adventure. He gives us unprecedented access behind the scenes of Industrial Light & Magic.
In this way, we learn about the pioneers of modern filmmaking who inspired the entire visual effects industry. Moreover, they take us on a journey to bring George Lucas’s visions to life.
Lawrence Kasdan
Who else but writer, producer, and director Lawrence Kasdan could have made the six-part series come true? After all, he is one of those filmmakers who changed the world together with George Lucas.
Kasdan’s biggest hits include blockbusters like Solo: A Star Wars Story, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, The Empire Strikes Back, and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
So, Kasdan and Disney+ joined forces with Lucasfilm and Imagine Documentaries to tell the untold story of the world-renowned company Industrial Light & Magic. By doing so, Lucasfilm provides an insight into the exciting and secret world of its special effects, animation, and virtual production departments.
All six episodes of Light & Magic will be available exclusively on Disney+ on July 27, 2022.
