FIVE AMAZING YEARS
In the past 5 years, Dua Lipa has not only experienced an incredible musical career. Several international fashion brands and magazines also went after the beautiful British singer.
Dua Lipa’s focus, however, is on music and music only, as she has released more and more songs throughout the whole year. At the beginning of this year, therefore, she finally released her highly anticipated second studio album “Future Nostalgia”, which hit like a bomb.

With this single Dua Lipa also shows her physical fitness. For this purpose, an additional video came out with the title “Let’s Get Physical Work Out”.
Of course, the cool single release “Break My Heart” is not missing on “Future Nostalgia” either, which can claim almost 300 million YouTube views to date.
2020 WITH DUA LIPA
Dua Lipa reports there was a point in the creative process when it suddenly became clear to her how this album should sound.
“I had just been a guest on a radio station in Vegas, and afterwards I went for a little walk to clear my head,” she says. “As I was walking around, I was listening to OutKast and No Doubt – and then I asked myself, ‘What exactly is it about these songs that makes them so special?’ What is it about them that I still think they’re so terrific, that I can still relate to them?’ Why do they sound as if they haven’t aged a bit? And how do I manage to turn this nostalgic feeling that connects me to these memories and sources of inspiration from my childhood into something new, something contemporary?'”
This troubled year of 2020 got even crazier for Dua Lipa on November 22nd. Because on that fateful day, at the American Music Awards, the jury chose her for the prize in the “Favorite Female Artists – Pop/Rock” category.
At the awards ceremony, Dua Lipa performed her song “Levitating”, released in August. Her breathtaking performance at the AMA’s, you can find right here!
This track is undoubtedly one of the top songs of 2020 and also one of the singer’s best songs. The trade press also praised this glamorous disco-pop revival highly. In “Levitating”, Dua Lipa shows her rap talent and is joined in it by DaBaby.
Dua Lipa and her production team were inspired by comedian Mike Myers and his film “Austin Powers”. The social media platform TikTok also supported the production of the video. In the Making-of, Dua Lipa gives us a look into the video production.
DUA LIPA’S “STUDIO 2054”
As COVID-19 postponed the planned world tour, Dua Lipa came up with something special for her fans. She invited them to the “Studio 2054” only five days after the American Music Awards.
This mega event was a sign of where things could go in the future. With “Studio 2054” Dua Lipa presented a completely new live experience. She expanded the classic concert setting with show elements such as roller disco, ecstatic raves and wild rocker hangouts. In addition, classy ballrooms and chic diva-style dressing rooms became the backdrop. The multidimensional live experience took place in gigantic warehouses for this purpose.
Dua Lipa was accompanied by some surprise guests. Among them was of course Miley Cyrus, with whom she recently released the single „Prisoner”. Kylie Minogue also appeared and FKA Twigs danced on a pole in a bondage look. Elton John performed his Rocket Man via video feed. A livestream and your old pair of headphones aren’t able to generate the sensation of a real concert, but they still help to keep the music alive and the artists in shape. After all, just like an athlete, a musician loses agility. That is why this is important to keep the artistic process going.
DUA LIPA, ANGÈLE AND THE MUSIC-“FEVER”
Dua Lipa used the “free” time that came with the postponement of concerts and recently released the single “Fever”. Belgian singer Angèle created it with her, also contributing to it with her voice.
BACK TO “FUTURE NOSTALGIA”
Besides the usual purchase and download options on all platforms, “Future Nostalgia” is also available as a beautiful and exclusive pink vinyl edition, CD, picture disc, golden cassette as well as a whole deluxe box set.
In conclusion, with “Future Nostalgia” and the remix album she published throughout 2020, Dua Lipa has once again stirred up the charts worldwide, and in the process also made up a little for the postponed world tour. The latter is now planned in Europe for the beginning of 2021. Finally, something awesome in the nearer future to look forward to. Because having 2021 be a source of hype is definitely better than one of nostalgia, we would say!
