The journey of the V-GUIDES starts in the south of Jutland. Right from the start, the girls feel lucky to be able to live in this time. A time in which Danes and Germans are close friends. The V-GUIDES learn on their journey through the South that this friendship had to be fought for first.

Shortly after the border, when they visit the FRØSLEV CAMP MUSEUM, they come across remnants of the former German occupation. A short stop at KOLLUND BEACH invites them to a picnic.

When visiting the HISTORY CENTER DYBBØL BANKE, the girls themselves become part of the story and the BATTLE OF 1864. They are deeply touched by the letters and diaries they find here, which tell how people of that time experienced the war.

When firing the cannon, the V-GUIDES can hardly imagine how loud it must have been at that time. They also think of their friends in and from Ukraine, who still have to experience this horror in our time.

The group relaxes at ALNOR BEACHPARK and VEMMINGBUND BEACH. They check the map and plan the way forward.

So, her path leads them to the city of nature, SØNDERBORG. Here the explorers learn even more about the history of the border. After visiting the CHURCH and QUEEN DOROTHEAS CHAPEL, the V-GUIDES turn into beautiful princesses in SØNDERBORG CASTLE, its KNIGHTS’ HALL, and PARK. Maybe they’ll visit the spectacle TILTING AT THE RING (July/Flashback). At FLUEPAPIRET AT SØNDERBORG CASTLE they can then rest.

In the GERMAN MUSEUM NORDSCHLESWIG, our girls with a thirst for knowledge can learn more about the art and culture of the region. Of course, this also includes shipping and therefore a visit to the NYDAMBOAT. This side of Danish history comes alive in an adventurous way on a trip on the NYDAM TVEIR.

On the bike and on foot, the V-GUIDES then discover the many ways to enjoy the enchanting nature. They nibble on the fruits and herbs of nature and learn more about their special features from the locals. They watch birds, and bats and admire the wonderful flowers.

TILTING AT THE RING

A trip to the holiday island ALS is also part of the program. Here the girls explore the beautiful AUGUSTENBORG Castle. They will also learn that ALS was the scene of heavy fighting during the worst of the war in 1864. At KØBINGSMARK BEACH (near the Castle), DREJBY BEACH – KERNELAND, MOMMARK BACH AND/OR FYNSHAV BEACH, the V-GUIDES, while having fun and sport, think about how nice it is to be able to live in peace and friendship. Maybe the girls will catch a fish or two here or make some new acquaintances. They then have a lot of fun in the UNIVERSE SCIENCE PARK.

Passing VARNÆSVIG BRAND AND SØNDERBRAND NORD, they head to AABENRAA and visit the FOLKEHJEM (People’s House) and MUSEUM SØNDERJYLLAND. Here, they deepen their knowledge of the early frontier and reunification as well as the history of H.P. Hansen.

There is no question that the V-GUIDES will then take part in a NIGHT WATCHMAN TOUR through the old parts of the city. In the afternoon, some of the girls took a short trip to the HIGH PARK to prove their courage in climbing. Because they liked it so much, they take the chance to stay here at “THE NEST” while the others spend the night in town.
