What did they do wrong, the V-GUIDES ask themselves when they wake up in SLEEPIN FÆNGSLET, the former HORSENS State Prison. Everything is ok because the location is now a hostel. Still, the girls wonder if the inmates slept as well as they did last night.
After a delicious breakfast at BRASSERIET FÆNGSLET, the curious girls discover FÆNGSLET, THE PRISON MUSEUM, and THE PRISON PARK.
At THE INDUSTRIAL MUSEUM (INDUSTRIMUSEET) the group experiences the amazing story of how industrialization shaped our society and the way we live today.
With lots of fun, THE HORSENS TREASURE HUNT is about local values. The explorers must find out, for example, how many windows the water tower from 1913 has. Who sketched the building Horsens Museum? How fun is the new playground at the Industrial Museum, and much more?
One of Horsen’s treasures is, of course, one of Denmark’s biggest hills (121 meters), PURHØJ, with its interesting surroundings. From here, the girls can see the HORSENS FJORD.
So, the team gets to LANGELINIE CITY BEACH at Horsens Fjord near the center of Horsens. Here, they enjoy the summer atmosphere and meet new friends.
Hungry it goes to GRIFFENFELDS where the V-GUIDES during lunch not only enjoy a great taste and the love for delicious food but stunning views of Horsens Fjord and the lush green fairways at Stensballegaard Golf. Inspired by this view, the explorers then go to the STENSBALLEGAARD GOLF CLUB, where they literally keep their golf skills in motion.
In the ART MUSEUM, the impressive collection of contemporary Danish art by the greatest contemporary artists is discovered before the history of the region is examined in the HORSENS MUSEUM. After a refreshment in CAFÉ ELLA and a break in the lovely park CAROLINE AMALIE LUND, a visit the TOWN ARCHIVES is also on the list.
Then the team relaxes in the romantic COMWELL BYGHOLM PARK from 1775. Here the girls feel the noble atmosphere in the old buildings and go for a walk. (hotel, overnight option)
Once again they find the popular DISC GOLF here. It goes without saying that the girls don’t miss the opportunity for a match today either. Hereafter, they enjoy nature at BYGHOLM LAKE.
Maybe then the V-GUIDES will stop by at SCANDIC BYGHOLM PARK RESTAURANT, THE BOARD GAME CAFÉ (BRÆTSPILSCAFÉEN), or CAFÉ GRAN to check the statistic that every Dane drinks about 5 cups of coffee a day.
While shopping extensively, the girls also discover the rum shop ROMDELUXE, where they immerse themselves in the world of rum. At BEER TO GO (ØL2GO), the hedonists are dedicated to the popular barley juice and the world of craft beers.
But even the most die-hard adventurers can’t enjoy rum or beer without having something in the stomach. Thus, it’s off to one of the good local restaurants. Maybe the girls will visit CORFITZ in the middle of the main shopping street and/or the creative kitchen at GRAN SOCIAL. Other options are the intimate restaurant JI-MI’S at the center of Horsens, the steakhouse OKSEN, the RESTAURANT PYNTEN which is located in scenic surroundings at HORSENS MARINA, or the RESTAURANT DOLLYS in historic surroundings at the harbor in Horsens.
The V-GUIDES enjoy pure culture in the NEW THEATER (NY TEATER), the KULTURSTATIONEN, and the PLATFORM K.
They have a drink in the GRAN BAR before heading to the JØRGENSENS HOTEL’S WINE BAR or to the RESTAURANT EYDES in the charming, historical cellar underneath the hotel. Whatever they do, they do it with their new local friends. After an atmospheric evening, this day comes to an end in the hotel.
