The morning starts with sports at the lovely HUSODDE BEACH. After an ice cream and miniature golf nearby, the V-GUIDES are headed to BRÆDSTRUP.

Here, in the idyllic surroundings of Bakkelandet, the friends discover the once hidden and forgotten DEN GENFUNDNE BRO (UNCOVERED BRIDGE) across Gudenåen. Then the girls get on the backs of real Icelandic horses for a FUGLSANG RIDETURE. They visit THE MONASTERY MILL (KLOSTERMØLLE) and learn more about Whiskey and wine at WATER OF LIFE / VIN & VIN BRÆDSTRUP. At FRU SKOV they find a lot of high-quality kitchen tools.

Of course, they buy some presents for their fans. Inspired by so much stuff for the kitchen, they satisfy their hunger at the RESTAURANT THE OLD POST OFFICE (DET GAMLE POSTHUS) before they spot the old carriage houses and the BRYRUP VRADS VETERANBAHN which brings them to VRADS. After a stop at the CAFÉ SDR. VISSING TORVEHAL continues north to SILKEBORG.

Here it goes on the water, with a trip on the HJEJLEN PADDLE STEAMER to the “false hill”, the HIMMELBJERGET. Its 25-meter-high tower, the HIMMELBJERGTURN, was built in memory of King Frederik VII, who gave Denmark its constitution on June 5, 1849.

The V-GUIDES explore the STATION LAVEN, the LABYRINTHIA, the WATER TOWER, the MICHAEL DREWSEN MONUMENT, and the AQUA AQUARIUM & WILDLIFE PARK. They also have a lot of fun with the many SPORTS AND FUN options. Of course, the team also admires the BIGGEST FOUNTAIN IN NORTHERN EUROPE. Then the girls relax together in the ØSTRE SØBAD.

Maybe they find time to explore the GUDENÅ RIVER themselves in a canoe or for a sporting competition on Denmark’s longest mountain bike downhill parkour.

After refreshment at CAFÉ COBRA, they head to the hill formations SINDBJERG UND STOUBJERG about 5 km southeast of Silkeborg.

The V-GUIDES also visit the ART CENTER, BUNKER MUSEUM, MUSEUM JORN, AUTOMOBILE MUSEUM, and of course the MUSEUM SILKEBORG where they “meet” the famous TOLLUND MAN. A detour then goes to the PLACE OF HIS DISCOVERY.

The journey of discovery takes the V-GUIDES to RY, and here to the ØM ABBEY MUSEUM and THE OLD MILL MUSEUM AT GL. RYE is situated on an old windmill. Then the last destination for this first week of the discovery tour through Denmark is already on the agenda, SKANDERBORG.

Here, in wooded terrain, the girls find one of Denmark’s largest hills, THE SUGAR LOAF (SUKKERTOPPEN). They enjoy the magnificent view of the beautiful nature of the Danish Lakelands and walk in the footsteps of the Vikings when they climb to the top on one of Denmark’s most challenging climbs. Furthermore, in the southern part of the Danish Lakelands, the V-GUIDES find Jutland’s biggest lake in picturesque and inviting surroundings, the MOSSØ.

Here the friends go to the charming village VOERVADSBRO for lunch in the RESTAURANT THE LITTLE SMOKEHOUSE (DET LILLE RØGERI). So, they enjoy the popular fish buffet with an abundance of delicious fish specialties made from scratch in the smoker. Enthusiastic about the delicious food, those with a sweet tooth also visit the adjacent FISHMONGER where they try more fresh and smoked fish that let their tastebuds dance with delight. Thus, they buy some snacks for their way.

Not far from here, the explorers climb on the EJER BJERGE (Ejer Bavnehøj). From here, or better from the popular GENFORENINGSTÅRNET (Reunion Tower) they overview the unique moraine landscape created during the last part of the latest ice age. However, this hill is still not Denmark’s highest point. But, of course, the explorers are now finding it at YDING SKOVHØJ (DENMARK’S HIGHEST POINT).

From lofty heights, the MS DAGMAR takes you back onto the water. After the relaxed boat trip, the friends leave the water and head into the forest. Here, amongst the trees of Skanderborg Forest, the V-GUIDES explore the remains of the German air force headquarters in Denmark during WWII, the SKANDERBORG BUNKERNE. Not far from here, the girls find a completely other picture. They wander through the DYREHAVEN DEER PARK, where they not only admire the 100-year-old rhododendrons but test their skills of aiming, throwing, and hitting while playing DISC GOLF.

It’s time to quench the hunger. And so the next stop leads to the RESTAURANT VESTERMØLLE, where, after a delicious meal, the girls also explore the VESTERMØLLE MUSEUM (WESTMILL) and learn more about agriculture and society in general.

The group discovers the cozy meeting place at Skanderborg Station, THE MUSEUM SKANDERBORG AT PERRON 1, the historic house with a waiting room, café, exhibitions, art, a working workshop for archaeological excavations, and a local archive with a reading room.

Of course, a detour also leads to the remains of the former Skanderborg castle, the SKANDERBORG CASTLE CHURCH. Gastronomic refreshment is now on the agenda at KAFE K and physical refreshment at CITY BATH.

After dinner, the girls finally go to the KULTURHUSET SKANDERBORG (Culture Centre) which is beautifully situated by the LAKE side in the middle of the town. And this is where the first week of the Denmark expedition ends in an atmospheric way.
