Since James Bond never really had it with the foreplay, we now come to the actual topic, the review of JAMES BOND NO TIME TO DIE.
In the following chapters, we will clarify whether it was worth the wait and whether the last Bond film with Daniel Craig offers what fans have hoped for.
CHAPTER I
JAMES BOND NO TIME TO DIE – THE STORY IN BRIEF
Like many times before, James Bond doesn’t know who to trust. Even with his lover, Madeleine Swann, Bond is unsure. So he leaves her and retires from active service. He spends his days off in peace in the Caribbean in Jamaica.
Until the day when he found out about a new, dangerous weapon from his old friend Felix Leiter.
Somewhat reluctantly, he agrees to help his friend from the CIA. So, Bond makes his way to Cuba.
JAMES BOND RETURNS HOME, BACK TO JAMAICA!
Editor’s note: These scenes were also shot in northeast Jamaica, more precisely in Port Antonio. Jamaica has already featured in the first James Bond film “Dr. No” as well as an impressive backdrop in many other films.
This also has to do with the fact that Ian Fleming wrote his hero’s adventures on paper here in what is now the GoldenEye Resort.
Together with Nomi, Bond now has to find out who is behind it all. Is it his old adversary Blofeld (Christoph Waltz)? And what about Felix’s partner Logan Ash (Billi Magnussen). Who is Safin (Rami Malek) and what does Madeleine (Léa Sedoux) have to do with him? Questions after questions that take 2.43 hours to find the answer.
CHAPTER II
NO TIME TO DIE – THE CHARACTERS & CAST
JAMES BOND (DANIEL CRAIG)
We don’t need to introduce our heroes. In No Time To Die, James Bond (Daniel Craig) experiences a surprise in No Time To Die that neither he nor we expected. As in previous episodes, Bond is plagued by many doubts. What is right and what is wrong.
Who is good, and who is bad? Will he finally be able to throw off all the ballast that he carries with him in terms of feelings and worries? Daniel Craig embodies the smart secret agent for the last time with flying colors.
You take his part from him every second and look forward to a happy ending with him until the end.
MADELEINE SWANN (LÉA SEDOUX)
In No Time To Die, we learn more about Madeleine’s background. What is it that moves you? What is she afraid of? Does she really love Bond? What is your biggest secret? The French Léa Sedoux slips back into the role of the beautiful psychologist. She empathetically casts a spell on us at Craig’s side.
PALOMA (Ana de AMAS)
Paloma is a newbie in the agent business. In No Time To Die, however, she supports Bond in a, particularly effective way.
That Daniel Craig and the pretty Ana de Amas are a particularly good team that acts together with a lot of fun, they have already proven in the cool film “Knives Out.” This time, too, it crackles between the two of them. Unfortunately, it does this far too short.
NOMI (LASHANA LYNCH)
Even before the Black Lives Matter movement, Universal and MGM decided to introduce a black double-zero agent. So they are right on-trend. But of course, it should be a fact that this is nothing special in 2021. And yet it is. Somehow.
Be that as it may, Nomi has stood up to James Bond from the start. However, the intrigue between the two gives way to the common goal of rendering Safin and his weapon harmless. So the unequal couple gradually moves together and overcomes one and the other hurdle. Lashana Lynch shows her versatility in James Bond No Time To Die.
SAFIN (RAMI MALEK) & ERNST STAVRO BLOFELD (CHRISTOPHER WALTZ)
Safin is a pretty bad guy who lost his family at an early age. Then, he took revenge for it. His face already gives an idea of his dark character. His world is determined by Ying & Yang. Elements from Zen, meditation, and Buddhism do not change his unbelievable malice.
Safin has brought into his hands a weapon that is more terrible than anything that has come before. In addition to this, Bond’s brother Ernst Stavro Blofeld’s earlier weapons look like toys. Rami Malek plays well.
But he doesn’t have the finesse of previous James Bond villains. You can find the winners of the Sky poll from autumn last year here.
MI6 (RALPH FIENNES, NAOMI HARRIS, BEN WHISHAW)
The MI6 seems very helpless and untidy in James Bond No Time To Die. Once again, the likable Moneypenny (Naomi Harris) takes the reins in hand. So she forces Q (Ben Whishaw) and M (Ralph Finnes) to help James Bond.
FELIX LEITER (JEFFREY WRIGHT) & LOGAN ASH (BILLY MAGNUSSEN)
Felix Leiter has been at James Bond’s side since the beginning. In No Time To Die, too, the cool CIA agent (Jeffrey Wright) needs Bond’s help, once more, because Leader Safin’s nasty machinations cannot stop either alone or with his partner Logan Ash (Billy Magnussen).
THE REVIEW OF
JAMES BOND NO TIME TO DIE
We have waited a long time for James Bond No Time To Die. Therefore the expectations are, of course, very high. Also, because we are expecting a worthy exit from Daniel Craig.
And what shall we say? James Bond No Time To Die meets our expectations. The film comes up with many surprises that were really worth waiting for. Even if some people will be irritated by the story at the end, it offers enormous depth and fits into our times. That stylishly rounds off the James Bond generation Daniel Craig.
The film has several lengths. Sure, over 2.5 hours. Here and there, dialogues are left too much space, and the actual action is neglected. James Bond No Time To Die is also very gloomy and gloomy.
But that’s exactly what makes it so unique. After all, it is Daniel Craig’s departure from this legendary role.
James Bond No Time To Die is a real blockbuster, that fits exactly into the time shaped by Corona and the uncertainties, worries, and fears associated with it. We thank MGM, Universal, Daniel Craig, and everyone involved.
But, especially, we would like to thank Ian Fleming for creating a hero who has fascinated and inspired three generations now.
James Bond No Time To Die is not just another film in the Bond series, but it is an emotional and strong statement for true love, for forgetting your pride, and trusting people. It’s a sign to fight and believe in good against evil, and that one or a handful of people can protect the world.
If we transport this into our everyday life, we should draw energy and motivation to believe that we too have the strength to make the world a better place for all. Maybe there is a little Bond in each of us? In any case, we are giving this grand finale with Daniel Craig 8 points!
