These ultra-light glasses are revolutionizing the industry always anew with innovative technologies and award-winning designs. Each glasses frame is manufactured without any screws, rivets, or hinges. This embodiment of Danish design, transformed into the most modern glasses frames, is known by the name LINDBERG.
What sets LINDBERG apart from others, and what makes it incomparable, is its modular system. It enables customers to configure all components of the frames to adapt them to their style and needs.
Every frame is unique: specially manufactured and refined by hand by the experienced eyewear specialists from LINDBERG. Without exception, selected and extremely durable materials such as titanium, gold, platinum, and diamonds are used.
The central values of the brand were shaped by optician and LINDBERG founder Poul-J0rn Lindberg. Today his son, architect Henrik Lindberg, continues to run the family business to create innovative designs with uncompromising quality.
HENRIK LINDBERG (CEO) ABOUT THE BRAND AND COLLECTION
I love our design and our DNA – this always comes first. We celebrate Danish functionality in our design. We do without unnecessary elements such as screws, rivets, and welds – instead, our designers and engineers take great pleasure in processing the material so that it “does the job” itself. It is both challenging and rewarding to use the materials this way.
Another milestone in our DNA is that we recognized the importance of tailor-made glasses from the very beginning 35 years ago. The family collaborates with the best opticians for decades.
Thereby, we saw the need to develop a system that would give the wearer the ultimate fit and a unique look. This unique system does not exist – to this day – in the world of the mass market. That enables us to tailor our glasses down to the smallest detail. This detail is the most important because it is important for people who wear glasses to enjoy everyday comfort.
And when I am talking about comfort, I think of titanium as a material. We were the first to use titanium in eyewear production without using welders. We quickly recognized the advantages of this hypoallergenic and lightweight material, and – although we now work with many high-quality materials – titanium is still at the heart of all our products.
We run a family company. Thereby, our organizational structure is determined by flat hierarchies. I believe that when we discuss every aspect internally, we are extremely agile and above all: we take risks and are not afraid of making quick decisions and directions at a high level. Every element and every process of the design and manufacture of LINDBERG takes place in-house.
We pride ourselves on being a design brand, and not just in glasses. Everything in our design and communication materials for digital and print media that put a certain product in the limelight, whether in the visual merchandising area or the interior for our exclusive optician partners, is “made by, designed by” LINDBERG.
We also have our own carpentry company to produce the interior fittings ourselves, which our partners assemble to ensure the quality we want. It is important for us to design our entire internal chain ourselves and not to be dependent on any subcontractors for glasses.
The answer to our 360-degree approach of “made by, designed by” is simple: we want to preserve our DNA and manufacture a high-quality product. We have to do this very well and so that we can guarantee the best results, the answer is to do everything ourselves.
Every single LINDBERG frame is individually designed, handmade, and carefully checked before we send it – not to a dealer, but directly to our opticians.
We recognize an influx of mass-produced or low-quality glasses that are not necessarily suitable for the end-user. I think it’s a shame that so many people walk around with glasses that don’t fit. They are such an essential accessory.
The eyes are the first feature that speaks to you when you first see a person. We believe that we not only distinguish ourselves through our customization concept or the use of high-quality materials but above all through our respect for craftsmanship.
We always must be one step ahead of the mass market and crossover brands. Especially, when it is about selling high-end, handcrafted products. Our global optics partners must convey our craftsmanship and pass on a high level of knowledge for the perfect fit to the consumer. To ensure this, we invest a lot in training our partners. Our in-house opticians and LINDBERG consultants commit themselves to coach them regularly to master these aspects.
