Today, as a modern medium, we have to publish our ideas and information in a cross-media manner, i.e. on as many levels as possible. This is the only way we can reach you, the reader and viewer who is interested in our sophisticated and extensive reports. But what does a porcelain manufacturer do when it wants to reach new, modern people? It builds a hotel that continues and expands the history and values. Traditional without appearing outdated. Creative without being over the top. Stylish without losing comfort. Directly located in the heart of Berlin: The KPM HOTEL & RESIDENCES.
NEXT DOOR
What we experienced in the manufactory next door, continues here. Traditional values are valued and translated into the present day. It starts with the facade. The cube architecture is a real eye-catcher and arouses curiosity about what is behind it.
BEHIND THE FAÇADE OF THE KPM HOTEL
If we look behind the facade, we see that these cubes are not just an external architectural element. They are also a style element when it comes to interior design. Because here they especially expand the rooms. For example, some of the cubes include cozy chill-out zones.
Besides, we can see these cubes also in the hallways and foyers. In general, the design very modern but by no means excessive.
JAZZ IS EVERYWHERE
It is particularly noticeable that almost everything here – of course – revolves around porcelain and also jazz.
The lightness of this musical style already wafts towards us in the lobby. Then, it accompanies us from the elevator, across the hallways, through the restaurant to the garage and gym. You don’t have to be a jazz fan to instantly absorb the cozy spirit and, thus, to feel good.
THE KPM HOTEL ROOMS
Furthermore, the rooms are very spacious. In a very complex process, the beds were made exclusively for the KPM HOTEL & RESIDENCES. The focus is on comfort and – here and there – some surprising effects. If desired, a small kitchen can be rented in the room. However, a detour to the hotel’s restaurant should definitely not be missed.
HAUTE CUISINE IN THE DONG A
The Dong A, the KPM Hotel’s Restaurant, specializes in Asian cuisine. This is prepared with all possible finesse.
We spoke to other guests completely independently. Everyone was enthusiastic about the food and especially the service.
They really go to great lengths to offer their guests a real sense of well-being.
That’s a good thing. Because the word Residences in the name stands for long stays.
The rooms on the upper floors of the house are for guests who stay in Berlin for a longer time.
360° VIEW FROM THE KPM HOTEL
Via the upper floor, we also get to the roof terrace. Although located in the heart of Berlin, we can relax here in complete peace. We hear nature, the wind, and nothing else. And, we enjoy a wonderful, unrestricted 360° view of the city.
MAGIC IN THE GREEN HEART OF BERLIN
We see that the Tiergarten, Berlin’s largest park, is directly adjacent to the hotel. Of course, the Tempelhof Field is actually Berlin’s largest leisure area. It is also called a park. However, as the name suggests, it’s actually a field that is good for picnicking and doing sports.
A park, however, includes trees, ponds, meadows, benches, and walking paths. For this reason, the Great Tiergarten is and will remain Berlin’s largest park.
Here we can take endless walks and feel like in the forest in the middle of the city. We can see squirrels, rabbits, ducks, and also foxes. However, not in the directly adjacent zoo, but the public park.
We can experience that many of the sights are very close together and that we can dive deeper into the heart and soul of Berlin on foot.
A RIDE IN THE PORSCHE TYCAN
The KPM Hotel offers a special service for all guests who want to see as much of Berlin as possible in a short time, and, besides, have a lot of fun. A free ride in the Porsche Tycan.
Every guest can rent this futuristic electric car free of charge. It lives up to the name Porsche. Because it shows that a battery-powered vehicle does not lack anything in terms of sportiness and power. Especially, when we switch on the motor sound, the car turns from silent into a beast.
If we drive the Porsche Tycan into the hotel, we experience another style element of the house. Fire red, the garage is an eye-catcher. It also houses the gym, including a sauna.
When we spoke to a guest who was also looking forward to driving the Porsche Tycan, we learned that he had a particular reason to choose KPM HOTEL & RESIDENCES for his stay.
He explained to us that he wanted to support regional traditions and values and their history, which unites us all. So, a stay turns in philosophy and a kind of social commitment.
A sense of community we also find in the playroom on the 4th floor.
There is no shortage of fun here. We can play table football and table tennis. Furthermore, we could play console or just watch a film with friends.
We leave the house with the impression that hotel manager Tobias Berghäuser and his team have succeeded in transforming the values of KPM BERLIN into a modern hotel while offering guests a stay based on comfort and well-being.
