Captain Kirk is deeply saddened. Because he lost his best friend Spock. At least that’s what he thinks until he is taught otherwise by Spock’s father, Sarek. The Vulcan ambassador explains to Kirk that Spock’s Katra, his living spirit, still exists. And so the Star Trek crew of the USS Enterprise goes on The Search for Spock.

THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK IN LETTER
Launched into space in an honorable ceremony, Spock’s coffin finally landed on the very planet created by the Genesis device. At the same time, Doctor Leonard McCoy begins to behave extremely strangely.
Meanwhile, Kirk’s son, David, and Lieutenant Saavik scan the Genesis planet from aboard the science ship Grissom. They discover an unexpected life form on the surface. Thus, they spontaneously travel to the planet.
There, they find out that the Genesis Effect also revived Spock. However, the Vulcan has the form of a child. Moreover, Spock has the mind of a child. David admits to using unstable protomatter for Genesis. Not only does Spock age quickly as a result. The planet will also collapse within a few hours.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the Klingon Kruge, who commands a Bird of Prey, also shows up in the action. Driven by hatred and greed, he destroys the research ship and takes David, Saavik, and Spock hostage. Meanwhile, Kirk and his officers free McCoy, disobeying all sorts of orders and even stealing the USS Enterprise from the spacedock. The destination: The Genesis Planet.
