After they have protected the USA from invasion of aliens several times, they must protect the world now. Therefore, the guys in the stylish black suits start their newest action adventure: Men in Black International. This time Agent H (Chris Hemsworth) and Agent M (Tessa Thompson) must face such powerful aliens as they were never seen before.
THE EASTER EGG IN MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL
A funny scene you already can watch in the trailer, when Chris asks Tessa it they already met each other once before. Of course, it’s a hint to Thor: Ragnarok. Moreover, it’s also a link to Avengers: Endgame, where Tessa performs as Chris’ co-star.
MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL REVIEW
THE GOOD
First of all, Chris Hemsworth is a handsome and very charming star. He does his best to embody the cheeky and fresh Agent H. Furthermore, Thessa Thompson is a worthy first member of the Women in Black. She is cute, funny, and she brings fresh air into the franchise. Of course, also Liam Neeson and Emma Thompson are brilliant as usual.
WILL SMITH, TOMMY LEE JONES AND THE PREQUELS
Men in Black International is, of course, entertaining and funny. But, it has to face a very great competition. This means, most of all, the prequels. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones gave the Men in Black a face. Moreover, Barry Sonnenfeld sent them to hilarious adventures, never seen before.
MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL
Hence, the expectations were high regarding part 4. However, unfortunately, all the real good actors can’t help to turn a weak story into a great film. Many scenes appear too designed, and not well thought out. They start in a cool way, but end in mediocrity. The humor isn’t really funny. Moreover, the stars had to overact here and there. Less is more, sometimes.
THE RANKING
Of course, Men in Black International is a cool movie. However, compared with the prequels, it can’t meet expectations even to some extent. It would be great to bring Barry Sonnenfeld back, who’s humor and creativity aren’t imitable. So, we can give only 5 points to Men in Black International.
