Wow, what an exciting evening. What a game and what a show. On the one hand, Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made football history on the field. On the other hand, Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, presented The Highlights of his career. He was the music act of the spectacular Halftime Show of the 55th Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida.
PATRICK MAHOMES VS. TOM BRADY
It was a game by giants Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady. At the age of 25, the one is an athlete in his prime. The other is a senior football player at over 43.
Tom Brady proves that time is relative not only through his youthful appearance. Yesterday, Sunday, February 7, he showed the 800 million viewers worldwide that he is still the best quarterback in the league. Even the almost half his age and extremely talented Mahomes, quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, could find any means against his opponent and his team.
THE TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS MAKE HISTORY
Also, the team wrote football history twice. So far, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the only team in the NFL history that reached the final in their home stadium. Thus, they are the first football team in history that won the final of the NFL Super Bowl in their hometown.
And what a terrific victory that was! Because the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the 55th Super Bowl with a proud 31-9. Initially, Mahome’s team led for a short time. But already in the first quarter, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers showed that they had no intention of leaving the field in second place.
ROB GRONKOWSKI MAKES ALSO HISTORY
Especially the buddies Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski showed what a well-coordinated team could achieve. Gronkowski had been retired for a year. However, he followed his friend’s phone call and joined the team.
Gronkowski trained intensively, lost a lot of weight, and played his way into the hearts of fans and the history books yesterday evening. In the first quarter, the Hall of Fame player turned his friend Brady’s pass into a touchdown. Another was to follow.
Besides Jerry Rice, Gronkowski has now second-most receiving touchdowns in Super Bowl history.
THE WEEKND PRESENTS THE HIGHLIGHTS AT THE HALFTIME SHOW
But yesterday evening’s game wasn’t the only thing that fascinated fans around the world. Like every year, there was, of course, a big Halftime Show at the 55th Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida. Stars like Michael Jackson, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga have performed here in the past.
This time The Weeknd presented the highlights of his career. The perfectionist from Canada invested a lot of money in the show himself. It is rumored to be $ 7 million.
Howsoever, The Weeknd performed a medley of his album The Highlights, released on February 5th. As we announced last week, his mega-hits “Blinding Lights” and “Save Your Tears” were also there.
The stage became a big show setting. Moreover, the playing field became a dance floor for hundreds of dancers. All of them appeared dressed in red jackets. With their head bandages, they followed up on the image campaign of Abel Tesfaye’s videos.
With this, the Canadian has already been a topic of conversation in social networks in recent months. A huge firework display finally created pure goosebumps.
A HAPPY END FOR TOM BRADY,
RON GRONKOWSKI AND THE TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
It was a terrific evening as the 55th Super Bowl ended triumphantly for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady. All fans and team members were blissfully happy. Brady’s wife Gisele Bündchen and his children Vivian Lake, Benjamin, and John Edward Thomas, were all ecstatic at Brady’s seventh Super Bowl victory and hugged him lovingly on the field.
This year the Super Bowl became a light in an otherwise quite dark year and fans across the US were excited to see it come together so spectacularly.
Even if this year only 25,000 people had the chance to enjoy the game live in the stadium, the atmosphere was still undeniably incredible.
Among the fans were 7,500 vaccinated healthcare workers. The NFL invited them for free as a homage to their self-sacrificing commitment during the past year. It is great to see their extraordinary service and continued selflessness be rewarded in this way and it must have been greatly appreciated.
It was an evening when the common rules of keeping distance and wearing masks were forgotten for one moment. Florida just celebrated the first victory in 18 years with exuberant joy.
