After so many years of waiting, not only Tom Cruise, Paramount, and everyone involved could hardly wait to celebrate the Top Gun Maverick premiere properly. The audience couldn’t wait to see the Hollywood stars on the red carpet.
A STRONG STATEMENT IN SAN DIEGO
The Top Gun Maverick world premiere sent out a strong signal. True to style, it took place on the aircraft carrier USS MIDWAY at the San Diego pier. So, the World Premiere also became a homage to the US Navy. In his speech, Tom Cruise thanked the men and women for their dedicated support in the making of the film and in protecting the country on a daily basis. A “selfie” together was also a must.
For some, such a speech may sound pathetic. But since February 24, 2022, we know how quickly the world can change. Since then, such words have acquired a new and important meaning.
However much we may wish to see the world free of military and environmental crises, we must recognize and accept the need to protect ourselves from aggressors.
Like so many Tom Cruise productions, Top Gun Maverick appears visionary. Because no countries are named as clear targets. Rather, it is about eliminating an abstract, military, nuclear threat. Besides, in reality, Putin’s threats and his war in Ukraine show how explosive, authentic and topical this topic is. Let’s hope that we won’t have to draw any further associations with other international conflicts in the future.

Another highlight was, of course, the Top Gun Maverick premiere in London. Here the shine of the Hollywood stars was outshined by that of the royals. The appearance of the beautiful Kate and Prince William became a very special highlight.

Then it went from England to France. Here, at the Cannes Film Festival, Tom Cruise doesn’t experience just another great Top Gun Maverick premiere. Moreover, the hosts of the event came up with a tribute to the exceptional artist.
After the movie premiere, the enthusiastic premiere audience honored him and his team with a 5-minute standing ovation.
