52 years before the V-GUIDES, another group of friends crossed Jutland in search of treasure in HANSTHOLM.
OLSENBANDE
Egon, Benny, Kjeld and of course Yvonne and Bjørge were big crowd favorites in East Germany. Everyone, no matter what age, knew the funny adventures of the losers who never managed a real coup until the end. Even if they can no longer cause chaos, they always remain alive in people’s hearts. In addition, the amusing series is a symbol of the emotionality of the Danish film, which is unique to this day.
Of course, the V-GUIDES don’t want to rob a bank or dig for a treasure, because the greatest treasure is something that money can’t buy, their freedom and their friendship.
Nevertheless, the girls follow in the footsteps of the three crooks who searched for Nazi treasure in the bunkers here on the beach at Hanstholm and actually found it. The V-GUIDES visit the BATTERY HANSTHOLM 1 and Denmark’s largest BUNKER MUSEUM, where they experience an incredible number of exciting things. Of course, this also includes THE AMMUNITION TRACK.
But, no doubt, Hanstholm has more to offer than remnants of war or film history. The girls here also explore the NATURE RESERVE IN THY NATIONAL PARK – South of Hanstholm, in the direction of Klitmøller, where they also find the largest Wildlife Reserve in Denmark. Perhaps they can also enjoy the sight of the many deer that live here.
Hanstholm has even more superlatives to offer, as it is also home to Denmark’s largest consumer fishing port, the HANSTHOLM PORT. Also, here the girls may not discover the largest, but the country’s first and once most powerful LIGHTHOUSE, THE NORTH ATLANTIC LIGHTHOUSE.
Of course, a lot of things on the coast revolve around fish. Therefore, a visit to des “DET GAMLE RØGERI” (THE OLD FISH SMOKEHOUSE) is a must, the V-GUIDES decide spontaneously whether to eat here in peace or take a treat with them because there are even more maritime delicacies waiting for the girls, namely on Denmark’s largest FISH AUCTION.
But of course, it’s not just about fish, because in the heart of the village, there is delicious freshly baked bread and cakes at CENTERBAGERIET. The V-GUIDES get closer to the locals in the small restaurant MADBAR where everybody sits close together and the intimate and light atmosphere invites to storytelling, laughs, and stains on the clothes.
A detour leads the V-GUIDES to JOHAN SKJOLDBORG’S HOUSE (MUSEUM FOR THE POET) in VESLØS. Then, the girls discover the Bird Cliffs in BULBJERG.
Here they sunbathe on the endless coastline along GRØNNESTRAND, KOLLERUP BEACH, SLETTESTRAND, KLIM BEACH (more on the website), and THORUP BEACH.
They make a stop at THORUPSTRAND FISKEHUS in FJERRITSLEV. Of course, the girls don’t just spend the day on the beach and doing water sports. They also visit the exhibition at Boathouse HAN HERRED HAVBÅDE and Gallery KUNST VED KYSTEN.
A meeting with the CRAB sculpture is just as much a part of the program as a stop at the beautiful SVINKLØV BADEHOTEL with its stunning view. This is how the team reaches AALBORG.
Here, in the JOMFRU ANE PARK, the V-GUIDES plan the course of the next few days. After lots of nature and water, the city girls are now exploring Aalborg’s center and the three pedestrian streets ALGADE, GRAVENSGADE, and BISPENSGADE with their shops and sights. Of course, this also includes the TOLDBOD PLADS FOUNTAIN, whose water feature takes place to George Frideric Handel’s water music.
The V-GUIDES discover HJELMERSTALD and find the popular sculpture “THE GOOSE GIRL” and on Vesterbro also the CIMBRERSTIER, the symbol of the city.
Along the MONASTERY CHURCH, the group goes to another landmark of the city, the old MONASTERY OF THE HOLY GHOST. Here the name says it all. Because in the monastery not only do the V-GUIDES wander through the beautiful outdoor facilities and old halls, but also at night or on New Year’s Day two real spirits. One of whom is a woman, who was immured into a pillar in the cellar after a stormy relationship with a wealthy man. At least that’s what the legend says.
It’s going to be dark soon and the V-GUIDES don’t want to be walled in when they’re flirting with the nice Danes. So, it goes on. After a visit to BISTRO V, the girls spend some money in the SALLING shopping center and the lounge on the SALLING ROOFTOP or in the FRIIS SHOPPING center.
After a good meal at the RESTAURANT VESTRE BAADELAUG and PRINSES JULIANA (Examples*), two girls go to the TEATER or to a concert of the AALBORG SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, while the others go to a film at the NORDISK FILM BIOGRAFER. In the CASINO, the V-GUIDES become BOND GIRLS and then enjoy a show in the MAXIMUM.
The day ends with an entertaining discovery of the bars where the girls meet friends of the day (e.g. the Nordisk team and some artists from the stage), or new ones. So, the evening gets long with exciting conversations (relaxed interviews) and many new friendships. The girls spend the night in one of the pretty hotels*.
