It goes to TUNØ. The V-GUDIES enjoy the magnificent view from the tower of the TUNØ CHURCH. In TUNØ HARBOUR, at the marina in the TUNØ SMOKEHOUSE & RESTAURANT (RØGERI & RESTAURANT), a good second breakfast awaits the group. The energy boost is necessary because THE TUNØ TREASURE HUNT will now start.

After another typically Danish “snack” at TUNØ MERCHANT’S HOUSE (KØBMANDSGÅRD), the girls head to the “Rabbit Island” ENDELAVE, which was also Denmark’s “ISLAND OF THE YEAR 2020/21“. The girls learn that many people had to leave the island. Yet they see how strong the island community is. After a visit to the ENDELAVE KRO (Hotel & Restaurant), the team heads from the harbor to FYN (Funen).

MEJERIET TUNØ – nice hotel, TUNØ VIKING CAMP TUNHALLA (VIKINGELEJR) – stay overnight, ODDER??

After a swim stop at the KERTEMINDE NORTH BEACH, the friends head to the “GARDEN BY THE SEA” to KERTEMINDE. The girls stroll along the orchards, gardens, and meadows and the rickety HALF-TIMBERED HOUSES from the 1700s of the quaint little seaside town.

The LADBY WIKINGERMUSEUM then takes the adventurers back to the wild days of the Norse men and women. Then, the V-GUIDES visit the JOHANNES LARSEN MUSEUM where art and nature merge. Even before their journey of discovery, the V-GUIDES knew that a country like Denmark had to live in harmony with nature. They now get real insider knowledge at the tourist attraction and research facility FJORD & BÆLT.

Because here the focus is on the magical sea and the preservation of nature. The connoisseurs also learn about the THREE SPECIALTIES that everybody absolutely must have tasted on Fyn, the BRUNSVIGER cake, the RYGEOST cheese, and the locally brewed BEER. So, the friends are following the BEER AND BREWERIES ROUTE on Fyn, again and again, during these days.

Later, they play some MINI-GOLF and visit the AQUARIUM. Then it goes to FYNS HOVED (Funen’s Head), where green FARMLAND and coastal MARSHES support all sorts of WADING BIRDS. The girls try to capture the special light that occurs here, especially when it rains. This is how they finally reach the world-famous ODENSE.

Here the V-GUIDES travel back in time and follow in the footsteps of a man who was born here and who, with his touching stories, has not only enchanted big and small children but also Walt Disney for almost two centuries, HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN.

The V-GUIDES also love his touching stories and visit the place where Denmark’s most famous son was born and wrote his first drawings and manuscripts, HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN’S CHILDHOOD HOME. Of course, a visit to the HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN HOUSE in the historic district close to MØNTERGÅRDEN and the ODEON CONCERT HALL is a must. Here, the girls also discover THE CHARITY SCHOOL – HISTORICAL BUILDING, where H.C. Andersen went to school during the last years he lived in town.

It remains fabulous in the beautiful FAIRY TALE GARDEN. Of course, the friends also find the HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN STATUE here. Nearby they discover the historic CATHEDRAL – ST. CANUTE’S CHURCH and stroll through the MONASTERY GARDEN KLOSTERHAVEN with its MEDICINAL HERBS.

After a snack at THE LITTLE NARROW CAFÉ, the girls discover the CITY HALL just around the corner, built between 1881-83 and crowned by the sculpture POWER, JUSTICE AND WISDOM. Not far from the H.C. Andersen House the team also discover the pretty ODENSE SLOT and the adjacent KONGENS HAVE (KING’S GARDEN) from around 1720. In the garden, they find the NINENOW, SOUND SCULPTURE, and the famous statue of KING CHRISTIAN IX. Not far from here, the girls come across the SCT. HANS CHURCH and GREYFRIAR’S ABBEY from the 14th century.
