Today, the V-GUIDES continue. While the journey goes along pretty towns, villages, and natural landscapes the goal is clear. It heads south, or more precisely to SVENDBORG. Here, the V-GUIDES explore the large specialty market of KULINARISK SYDFYN with many local producers (turn beforehand).
Of course, the friends also admire the regatta FYN RUNDT, which starts on July 22nd and ends here in Svendborg on July 28th. Enthusiastic about the spectacle and the atmosphere, the V-GUIDES are returning to Svendborg on September 15th and 16th, because this is where the start and finish point of the world’s largest regatta in single-handed sailing, the SILVERRUDDER, is located.
Afterward, the explorers continue to the small island of LYØ. Here, too, they travel back in time as they stroll through the idyllic village streets and past the farmhouses. This impression is reinforced when they discover the BELL STONE marking an ancient burial site. From the BIRD TOWER, the girls watch the birds that breed here in early summer.
The trip continues on THE ISLAND with the maypole, to AVERNAKØ. Sunbathing and bathing fun is on the agenda when the V-GUIDES drop their clothes and slip into their bathing suits at one point on the almost 20 km long beach. Even if it’s summer, the girls learn all about the tradition of MAYPOLE (will be filmed beforehand, flashback).
Then, a trip into the ice age starts. Because it goes to the GEOPARK DET SYDFYNSKE ØHAV. After the adventurous research trip, they arrive at one of Denmark’s best-kept secrets, ÆRØ. HERE the V-GUIDES marvel at the picturesque ferries and bridges and explore the island’s many small villages.
Flying visits to the MARSTAL SOFARTSMUSEUM and ÆRØ MUSEUM and to the pretty churches are also on the program, as is a visit to the HAMMERICHS HUS with its antiques. The bottle ship collection in the FLASKE PETERS SAMLING will not be forgotten either.
The girls can even see Germany from the VODERUP KLINT and, of course, they explore historical sites like SOEBYGAARD. The hearts of the V-GUIDES beat faster in the VITSOEHUS PERMACULTURE GARDEN. Their thirst for art is quenched in the beautiful ATELIERS UND GALERIEN. Speaking of quenching thirst, of course, the girls also visit the AERO WHISKY DESTILLERI and ÆRØ BREWERY.
In the late afternoon, they climb SKJOLDNAES FYR (lighthouse) to experience the beautiful view and light mood. After that, they follow THE NIGHTWATCH OF ÆRØSKØBING on their tour through the old town. After their hunger for knowledge has been satisfied, the friends satisfy their actual hunger in one of the RESTAURANTS. In that way, another evening in wonderful Denmark comes to an end with good conversations with locals.
