Today the journey continues via KLEMENSKER and NYKER to LILLEBORG, where the V-GUIDES explore the small 12th-century castle. Less than a kilometer from here the group discovers the GAMLEBORG, which is even older and dates back to the year 750.

Then it’s off to Bornholm’s highest point, RYTTERKNÆGTEN. The V-GUIDES learn that the KONGEMINDET observation tower was built in 1856 to commemorate the visit of Danish King Frederik VII and Countess Danner five years earlier. The explorers learn why they are 184 meters above sea level on the tower today. Of course, the girls enjoy the breathtaking view over Bornholm and maybe, on a clear day, they can see as far as Christiansø or Sweden.

From the heights, it goes down into the valley, in a special valley. Because the 16 km long EKKODALEN owes its name to a special feature, its echo. Of course, the well-informed V-GUIDES start at H. C. ØRSTED QUELLE, about 20 meters to the left of the path at the entrance to Echo Valley. Because from here they can experience the best echo. A stop at EKKODALSHUSET Restaurant is not just for refreshments. Because here the girls learn that international stars have already performed in this intimate atmosphere.

The next trip is to the wild area in ALMINDINGEN FOREST, the BISON PÅ BORNHOLM (WEB). Here, the V-GUIDES get very close to the 15 animals that live in this forest. The adventurers learn that the animals help to “maintain” the site. It remains beastly at the BORNHOLMS ROVFUGLESHOW. Here the friends experience not only the great flight show but also cute chicks, turtles, and other animals. On the small trotting track, BORNHOLMS BRAND PARK, the sporty girls, and the jockeys start a friendly but, of course, comfortable race.

A little further north, the explorers come across Bornholm’s most beautiful waterfall, STAVEHØL (WEB) on the Kobbeå River, before having fun on the mini golf course in BORNPARK. In ØSTERLARS, they explore Bornholm’s oldest and largest round church, the ØSTERLARS RUNDKIRKE from the 12th century. The V-GUIDES learn that the different floors were also used for defense against enemies.

The path now leads to the knowledge-pedagogical experience center, BORNHOLMS MIDDELALDERCENTER (MEDIEVAL CENTER), which deals with the theme of culture and nature between 1300 and 1450. In ØSTERMARIE, the team explores STRABO, where renovated furniture is sold. On the flea market, one or other bargains are waiting for being discovered. The friends enjoy the peace and tranquility in the beautiful garden. Then, they discover the geological wonder, the cut through the rock known as RANDKLØVE SKÅR.

Via LOUISENLUND it goes to Denmark’s oldest playland, the family-run amusement park BRÆNDESGÅRDSHAVEN. After a lot of fun, the V-GUIDES move on to LISTED, where they talk to the artist Mette about the artistic ceramics from DUEDAHL. In LISTED HAVN the group meets SEBASTIAN FROST, who makes beautiful Jewelry & Watches.

It’s time to go to SVANEKE. Since the 12th century, the city has not only been one of the most beautiful port cities but also a center for beautiful things and handicrafts. Beautiful things also include Denmark’s national candy. At LAKRIDS BY BÜLOW SVANEKE, those with a sweet tooth with a thirst for knowledge learn a lot about the production of this popular treat, which can also be tasted here in very unusual flavor combinations.

But too many sweets are not healthy, even if they are not that sweet. That’s why the girls are now drawn to Marie Wickman’s SYD-ØST FOR PARADIS, where they enjoy simple but excellent food with a beautiful view.

Strengthened like this, the fashionistas head to KOKOLORES, where they talk to Timmi Kromann about his knitwear and, of course, try it on extensively (TRY ONS). From Anette Bergregaard, the V-GUIDES not only learn that AB HÅND means “from my hand to you”, but also what real passion for porcelain means. After a nice conversation, we continue to the VINØST (wine bar) and then to the ART BOX, where the girls discover all kinds of art, including a painted Trabbi.

Bornhom is an island for connoisseurs. Therefore, a must-stop is the BORNHOLMS ISMEJERI. It’s where the V-GUIDES can feast on the largest ice cream in the world. Then it’s on to SVANEKE BLOMSTER (flowers) and the stone carvings, SMÅSTEN BLIVER TIL KUNST. In one of the old merchant’s houses, the SVANEKEGAARDEN, the girls experience the culture of the island at a theater performance or a concert, before they exhausted in the SVANEKE BRYGHUS RESTAURANT and enjoy the delicious food and good beer with the new friends of the place.

OPTION STAY

Then they spend the night in the city’s landmark, the lighthouse from 1918.
