As the last destination of the voyage of discovery through Denmark, the V-GUIDES are now heading for SJÆLLAND.
The day starts in the south, in KALVEHAVE. Perhaps the adventurers use the boats from BED AND BED AND BOATS HAVKAJAKKER / BED & BOATS HOTELBÅDE / BED AND BOATS PICNIC-BÅDE for a few stops on their journey along the coast, on which they can also sleep and discover Denmark from the water. In any case, the girls have a nice view of Møn from KALVEHAVE BEACH, not far from the harbor, before they enjoy the beautiful view underwater while SNORKELING.
From the underwater labyrinth to the KALVEHAVE LABYRINTPARK, where even big kids, including the girls, can solve tricky puzzles and relax in this stress-free area. The journey of discovery continues to LANGEBÆK, to the picturesque MALLINGS KLØFT in STENSBYGÅRD, where the explorers find the remains of 5 mills. As they walk along the creek the friends enjoy the beautiful view of the STORSTRØM and FARØ bridges.
This is how the group reaches the BAKKEBØLLE BEACH, located between STENSVED and NYRÅD, with a view of the FARØBROEN. In VORDINGBORG the girls then discover the VORDINGBORG CASTLE. Here and at the DANISH CASTLE CENTRE, they learn that the castle was built in 1160 by Valdemar the Great. The team explores the remains of the church and castle and learns that the 650-year-old GOOSE TOWER, named after the golden goose Valdemar Atterdag, was built to mock the German Hanseatic towns.
In the middle of Vordingborg, there is a lot for the V-GUIDES to discover, because this is where DENMARK’S BORGCENTER (CASTLE CENTER) is located. In the old castle area on the historic castle bank, the girls explore the ultra-modern adventure center, which tells the story of medieval castles, kings, and powers. Then BLUE ADVENTURE (KOMMUNE) invites the girls to go diving, sailing, surfing & SUP, and much more. They can also snorkel at ORE BEACH, while they enjoy the picturesque view of the forests all around from KNUDSHOVED ODDE BEACH. The friends also explore the forest area KNUDSHOVED ODDE.
In KASTRUP there is a stop at KASTRUP SEA BATH, which – situated off-shore in the Øresund Sound – offers great views of the Saltholm Island and Sweden. The journey goes from NEDER VINDINGE to the LIGHTHOUSE by KNUDSHOVED ODDE.
In LUNDBY, from the old control tower of AVNØ NATURCENTER, the V-GUIDES can admire the seals sunbathing on the reef in AVNØ FJORD, as well as the many ducks, waterfowl, and migratory birds. At the center, the girls also get some nature lessons.
The team gets even closer to the pretty animals on a SEAL SAFARI AT AVNØ FJORD. They start the trip on the beach or in SVINØ PORT. Perhaps some of the animals will also swim under the girls’ kayaks. Of course, the V-GUIDES pay attention to the tide and current, which can be quite strong between SVINØ and DYBSØ. In RONEKLINT, too, the adventurous water rats can discover many valuable underwater treasures while SNORKELING.
The girls in PRÆSTØ & PRÆSTØ-FJORD discover hollyhocks on every house facade and ancient cobblestones. From here they have a beautiful view of the PRÆSTØ FJORD. In the pedestrian zone, the V-GUIDES find a number of SECOND-HAND SHOPS, numerous FLEA MARKETS, and small SPECIALIST SHOPS in the PRÆSTØ PORT. The rich GASTRONOMY SCENE offers a good opportunity to make new friends. Maybe those with a sweet tooth make a stop at Det Gamle Toldhuus or they enjoy the cozy café atmosphere at CAFE MOCCA, where they buy a lavishly filled PICNIC BASKET for the next day.
Afterward, the girls have fun at PRÆSTØ BEACH with SURFBIKING, KAYAKING, ADVENTURE BOATS, SNORKELING, or a WATER SAFARI before observing the fish from inside a GLASS CANOE. Maybe they even discover a PIRATE SHIP.
ACCOMMODATION OPTION
The day ends at HOTEL FREDERIKSMINDE, which is a pioneer in green gastronomy. In the beautiful dining room of the Michelin restaurant above Præstø, the V-GUIDES can enjoy the view of the countryside and the calm fjord, as well as the “GREEN MENU OF THE YEAR” which fresh ingredients are harvested directly from the field just a few kilometers away.
Two of the girls go to the small village of JUNGSHOVED, just outside Præstø. In the midst of wonderful nature, the team finds the JUNGSHOVED PRÆSTEGAARD. Here they sleep like royalty in the stately rooms. They visit the beautiful half-timbered vicarage and its beautiful garden. At the back of the garden is the small cottage between the trees and the fjord with its own fireplace. How romantic.
