After breakfast, the V-GUIDES continue to RØDVIG – STEVENS. Now, too, it goes way back in world history, because the UNESCO attraction STEVNS KLINT is waiting for the girls. It’s arguably one of the best places to start looking for traces of the asteroid that struck Earth 66 million years ago and wiped out more than half of all life.

From Rødvig the explorers take one of the KLINTENS BOATTOURS to the cliff, with a few SUP BOARDS (STAND UP PADDLING) in their luggage. The girls first paddle along the imposing cliffs on their boards. At the STEVNS KLINT EXPERIENCE, on the hill in the BOESDAL LIMESTRY QUARRY, they meet the mammal LUCKY and learn that it is called so because it was so lucky to survive. The girls learn how closely annihilation and death are linked to birth and creation, and that life always finds a way. The V-GUIDES watch the exciting documentary in the CINEMA and discover the DINOSAUR SKELETONS, METEORITES, and FOSSILS in the exhibition. Of course, they try out the installed INTERACTIVE GAMES, too.

In the underground passages of STEVNSFORT of the nuclear military facility 18 meters below the cliff, the V-GUIDES transform into BOND GIRLS in the VIRTUAL SPY GAME. During the foray through the rooms and the area, they also discover the cannons and learn more about the COLD WAR.

STEVNS FYR takes them from depths to heights, more precisely 69 meters above sea level (42m cliffs, 27m tower). From here the girls enjoy a fantastic view.

The girls then walk along the STEVNS KLINT TRAMPESTI, which goes through the limestone quarries, across fields, and past HØJERUP GI CHURCH on the edge of the cliffs. From the balcony of the church, the friends can see the blue water and the white rocks.

Back at RØDVIG HARBOR, they relax on the beautiful RØDVIG SAND BEACH and RØDVIG STRAND (KROSTRANDEN). Then in the harbor, the group watches the many boats, whose silhouettes appear in front of the sun.

Maybe at RØDVIG KRO or RØDVIG KRO & BEACH HOTEL, the girls enjoy good food before heading to HØJERUP and here to OLD HÖJERUP CHURCH (HOEJERUP OLD CHURCH, Højerup Gl. Kirke) from 1357 (around 1250). The V-GUIDES learn about the legend of the boater who was once in distress and vowed to build this chapel if he will survive. The girls learn that the church was also in distress (the ground was undermined over the years) and the church choir, therefore, fell into the water in 1928. Today, the girls have a fantastic view of the coast and the sea from the viewing terrace that replaced the fallen church choir.

At the TRAKTØRSTEDET HØJERUPLUND inn on the cliffs next to the old church, the girls fortify themselves with some DANISH DISHES and some home-baked goods. Then it’s down the 107 steps to the beach.

CAFÉ MAD & RO VON STEVNS FYR

Then the journey continues north along the east coast to STORE HEDDINGE, where the V-GUIDES discover BØGESKOV BEACH near BØGESKOV HARBOUR. When visiting the HOLTUG CHALK QUARRY recreation area, our nature lovers find many rare and protected plants and small animals.

On GJORSLEV GODS, the explorers learn more about the novel-like story that the estate has to tell. It begins with the first owner, Rane Jonssen, who took part in the murder of King Erik Klipping. Thus, he was sentenced at the barn at Finderup in 1287 and beheaded at Roskilde in 1302. And the story goes further, that in 1395 the bishop of Roskilde took over the estate and built the current castle that was owned by the royal family for almost 65 years from 1679. Maybe the V-GUIDES get the chance to visit the castle from the inside as an exception. In any case, the friends stroll through GOTSPARK GJORSLEV and make a stop in GJORSLEV BØGESKOV beech forest where they explore MØLLESØEN and its rich bird life from the bird tower on the southern side. Maybe then the girls will try their fly-fishing skills at the FISHING WATERS AT GJORSLEV BØGESKOV.

In RESTAURENT GJORSLEV BØGESKOV (Traktørstedet Gjorslev Bøgeskov), whose history dates back to 1875, the friends enjoy the many original culinary taste experiences, seasoned with traditional genuine Danish atmosphere, also known as “HYGGE“. They enjoy the location meanwhile of the beech forest on one side and the Baltic Sea with a view across KØGE BAY to SWEDEN on the other.

Along the BØGESKOV HAVN at the end of the TRAMPESTIEN (trail), the group goes to the beautiful little STRØBY LADEPLADS STRAND with a view of the Bay of Køge and then to HASLEV.

In the PARADEHUSET orangery, the V-GUIDES learn more about historical plants before heading to one of Denmark’s oldest and best-preserved Renaissance castles, the GISSELFELD MONASTERY, whose name can be traced back to 1370. The girls not only learn a lot about the history of one of Denmark’s largest estates but also that H.C. Andersen was inspired to write his fairy tale The Ugly Duckling during a visit here and at GISSELFELD PARK.

Then the girls discover the VILLA GALLINA in a particularly beautiful location, in the middle of the HESEDE FOREST, from which they can enjoy the wonderful view over the FOREST LAKE. In the RESTAURANT, the friends enjoy a good meal, and maybe they get the chance to look in the KITCHEN to learn more about the LOCAL CUISINE. The night is spent in the GARDENERS LOGI, where the V-GUIDES enjoy peace and tranquility in the most beautiful surroundings with a view of the castle park and the castle. This is how the sixth week comes to a relaxing and stylish end.
