The morning begins as the afternoon ended in the faultlessly elegant beach spa of the beautiful BEACH HOTELS. ‘Cause, it’s time to step on the brakes. Many exciting days lie behind the explorers. The urge to explore leads them to GURRE LAKE. The shallow (4 meters deep) lake is associated with GURRE CASTLE RUIN and the DANISH KING VALDEMAR, who lived at the castle in the 1300s.

After relaxation and rest, the V-GUIDES are looking for action again. Therefore, they find it in MULTIPARKEN HELSINGØR MP:H. Here, they play STREET BASKETBALL and FOOTBALL with the locals before trying their hand at STREET SKATING on SKATEBOARDS, BMX, and ROLLER-SKATES. The girls get to know the locals even better during leisurely picnics in the green spaces.

Then, it goes to SNEKKERSTEN in the HARBOR, where the friends enjoy the many activities and a charming environment. Moreover, relaxation is on the agenda again, namely in the COMWELL BORUPGAARD BODY & MIND SPA. Here, the travelers find recreation for both body and mind. The girls enjoy among other things Denmark’s first BRETCHEL BATH, which both calms and stimulates the mentally. The girls discover the SPA PARK with nature SAUNA, AQUASPA with SALT SAUNA, and the SPA TERRACE with AROMATHERAPY in the natural sauna. So, they are enriched with renewed energy and pure pampering for their entire bodies.

The relaxation is good because the journey continues to ESPERGÆRDE. Here, THE EATERY SPISESTUEN AT FLYNDERUPGAARD MUSEUM is waiting for the girls. They look behind the scenes to learn plain Danish home cooking from the good old days. At FLYNDERUPGÅRD Museum, the friends learn more about the lives of the local farmers and fishermen. The girls discover the large garden and the exhibitions. Then it’s off to the MØRDRUP CHURCH in the ESPERGÆRDE CENTER. After the friends have explored some of the local SHOPS, they head to the nearby cozy ESPERGÆRDE HARBOR, where the V-GUIDES find the ESPERGAERDE BEACH right next door. Since today is the day of relaxation, the team will sunbathe and pass the time in and on the water.

However, the next destination is already waiting, HUMLEBAEK, and the LOUISIANA MUSEUM OF MODERN ART. The explorers know that it’s an absolute top attraction when it comes to art, nature, and architecture. Besides, there is refreshment in the LOUISIANA CAFÉ. Hereafter, THOMAS JØRGENSEN shows the V-GUIDES in his bakery BRØDSNEDKEREN (“The bread carpenter”) what skilled craft traditions, taste, and quality mean. He also tells the girls that every year the bakery delivers a gorgeous birthday cake to Crown Princess Victoria, the Swedish court birthday, decorated with lots of flags. The girls take some of the delicious bread with them, for which they now need some spread or something similar.

They find what they are looking for in the AARSTIDERNES FARM SHOP at KROGERUP AVLSGAARD, where there is a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. The girls learn that the farm has its own brewery, KØLSTER MALT & BEER run by the brewmaster PER KØLSTER. He shows the girls his work. And, so bread and the other ingredients taste even better. The V-GUIDES roam through the cozy HUMLEBÆK HARBOR and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere with beautiful nature and lovely beaches. They also visit the protected area nearby, with a forest and beautiful fishermen’s houses.

This is how they discover the idyllic fishing village of SLETTEN and its HARBOR. They visit the old, carefully restored fisherman’s cottages, the shops, a boat builder yard, a delicious ice cream stall, and a fishmonger. The explorers visit the FALKONERGÅRDEN to experience history’s whirr of wings when the eagles, hawks, and falcons of the falconer demonstrate their hunting and flying techniques at short range. A stop at RESTAURANT SKIPPERHUSET (Skippers House), neighboring the BARGE HOUSE OF FREDENSBORG PALACE and directly on the shores of LAKE ESRUM, satisfies the hunger.

Then the group reaches the town of FREDENSBORG. Here they go straight to the FREDENSBORG PALACE (FREDENSBORG CASTLE) which is the regent’s most used residence. The girls learn that the beautiful 18th-century baroque palace was built as a hunting palace for Frederik IV and is today often the setting for large official state visits and family events in the royal family. Its name “the Palace of Peace” comes from the ending of The Great Northern War in 1722. When they see the palace and FREDERIKSBORG CASTLE GARDENS French baroque style, they V-GUIDES understand why the palace is often referred to as Denmark’s Versailles.

The girls walk through the magnificent FREDENSBORG PALACE GARDENS and find a unique insight into Danish history, architecture, gardening, and sculptural art. In the garden, they also discover the NORDMANDSDALEN (THE NORSEMANS’ VALLEY), the 70 sandstone sculptures of regular fishermen and farmers, as they looked in 18th century Norway and the Faroe Islands, initiated by Frederik V in 1764. Of course, the V -GUIDES also see QUEEN MARGRETHE’S SOLDIERS AT FREDENSBORG PALACE. Because when the HRM resides at Fredensborg Palace (spring, autumn – turn before)*, a detachment of lifeguards is stationed here, and the changing of the guards with music each day at noon is a festive sight.

Did we say today is a relaxing day? However, the V-GUIDES need a lot of exercise. So, now it’s off to the FREDENSBORG GOLF CLUB, where they want to put a few balls into the holes. At the end of the day, the friends go to another historic treasure, FREDENSBORG STORE KRO. Here, they are really close to the royal history, and they can just lean back and enjoy their stay. The staff at Fredensborg Store Kro does their utmost to make the girls feel at home.
