After the last breakfast of the week, the V-GUDIES head to HILLERØD and, here, to FREDERIKSBORG CASTLE AND MUSEUM OF NATIONAL HISTORY. The girls explore the beautiful Renaissance castle that is built on three small islands in Castle Lake, on whose glossy surface the many towers and spires are reflected in an enchanting sight. Furthermore, the friends visit the western wing of the castle, the FREDERIKSBORG CASTLE CHAPEL, planned and built as the private chapel of the royal family.

The explorers visit the beautiful neoclassical building ANNABORG, THE HILLERØD ART CENTRE. Here, they admire the paintings, graphics, sculptures, ceramics, and other arts. Then, the girls go on a delightful mini-cruise on Castle Lake with the charming DEN LILLE FÆRGE (LITTLE FERRY), M/F FREDERIKSBORG.

Howsoever, some of the V-GUIDES prefer to take a walk along THE LAKE PATH around SLOTSSØEN, with magnificent views of Frederiksborg Castle, and lovely nature with lots of water, trees, and birdlife. Here and there, they wave to their friends on the ferry. Then it’s off to the atmospheric and cozy HILLERØD TOWN MUSEUM (MUSEUM NORDSJÆLLAND) which tells the story of Hillerød throughout 500 years: from the medieval village to the royal borough until today.

The girls make a detour to FANTASIENS Ø (THE ISLAND OF IMAGINATION) where they test their imaginations. Next on the list is MUSEUM NORDSJÆLLAND. Here, they experience again the region’s local history – from lavish royalty over hard-working fishermen to the Danish Jews who fled from Gilleleje during World War II. Maybe the girls will make a detour to the ÆBELHOLT ABBEY MUSEUM (5 km west of Hillerød). Here they want to see excavated ruins of what was the largest Nordic Augustinian Abbey in medieval times.

From the history of monks, the girls head to MONKEY WORLD where they experience the cozy animal oasis and get up close and personal with colorful parrots and playful monkeys. They feed the peacocks, chirping budgies, and soft rabbits in the Japanese garden. The V-GUIDES learn many exciting stories and that these are rescued animals. At the ELVÆRKET MUSEUM, the V-GUIDES visit the Power Station and learn that the beautiful turbine hall houses temporary exhibitions focusing on the culture, art, and history of North Sealand. Then it’s off to the SLOTSARKADERNE (SHOPPING CENTRE), where the girls shop extensively.

Then it’s off to the last station of the week, to NIVÅ. Here, in a unique atmosphere of hygge and intimacy, the girls visit the exquisite NIVAAGAARDS COLLECTION and walk around among 500 years old European masterpieces.

At RHODODENDRON PARK AT NIVAAGAARD, the friends experience an explosion of colors in red and purple. They enjoy the tranquility. Then it’s off to the pitch and putt course at NIVÅ GOLF CLUB. After the girls have holed a few balls, they can splash around and relax at NIVÅ BEACH. Then it’s off to NIVÅ HARBOR.

Here, the group discovers the RESTAURANT TREKOSTEN with stunning views to the island of Ven – the Swedish coast, and of course Kronborg Castle. The seventh and actually last week in Denmark ends with nice conversations in a cozy atmosphere. But one highlight is still waiting for the V-GUIDES, a whole week in wonderful Copenhagen.
